4 Wheel Driving with my AP group

05 Mar

AP….is short for ausphotography. It’s an Australian forum which I’ve been a member of since the 9th August 2007. I’m member 756. Now there are 12,850 members and rising each and every day.

We often have days, nights, mornings where a group of us meet up and have a few hours shooting different things. Always at different meets there is someone new to bring into our group. We try all kinds of meets. Portraits, sunrises, sunsets, marco meets, street photography, sport photography but this day we started early and all met up at Ipswich at 6:30AM and spent the whole day tracking around Emu Vale. I think most of us arrived home about 8.30PM that night. I know one of us even washed his car straight away.

Here is a map where we travelled that day….26th Feb 2011

There were 10 cars. One which was only an all wheel drive but did it show us he was having fun. YEP!!!

He bottomed out crossing a couple of rough crossings. After lunch under the shade of a huge tree, heading back he even got bogged and had to be towed out.

During our trip through the Condimine Road we had to cross the Condimine river 14 times. One was quite deep. Lucky we told the little all-wheel-drive car to take the high road. Which was a shame becuse he missed out on a lot of fun.

Here are a couple of photos taken on the day.

"No anchor point at the front"

"So out backwards we go"

Left a huge hole by the time we were done. Lucky there was room to drive around that mess.

Just a few of us. There was 10.
